 Fees / Fund Raisers

  • Fees are not refundable. Exceptions will be considered by the board under extreme circumstances.
  • All families are responsible for participating in club fund raising activities. Failure to do so will result in a fee to be assessed by the board payable before the end of the season.

 Practices

  • Practices are mandatory
  • Exceptions need to be brought to the attention of the board and the coaches.
  • Absences due to illness or injury need to be communicated to the board or coach as soon as possible.
  • Any parent coaching from the stands or making contact with their swimmer during practice will not be tolerated. Parents will be asked to leave.
  • Conference and Senior / J.O. practices are exclusively for those swimmers who have attained times for participating in these championship meets.

 Meets

  • Dual meets are held once a week during the regular season.
  • Coaches and board members must be notified when a swimmer cannot make a meet. This must be done as soon as possible.
  • Ribbons are given as awards for meets. Individual events as awarded ribbons for 1st through 6th place. 1st through 3rd place ribbons are given out for relay events.
  • Parents must volunteer their time during home meets. Timers and Concession Stand workers are always needed.

 Discipline Policy (In effect at ALL practices and meets)

  • Swearing, spitting, pushing, towel snapping, walking out of practice and/or disrespectful attitude toward adults and other swimmers will not be tolerated.
  • Undesirable conduct that may harm another team member can constitute dismissal from the team.
  • Good sportsmanship is a must. All teammates should encourage each other at all times.
  • The following action will be taken in the event of inappropriate behavior:
    • 1st  offence: Parents will be contacted and the swimmer will be dismissed from practice.
    • 2nd offence: Parents will be contacted and the swimmer will be suspended from the following meet.
    • 3rd offence: Parents will be contacted and the swimmer will be dismissed from the team.

 Newsletters

  • Newsletters are handed out on Monday of each week.
  • Newsletters contain important information about upcoming meets, practices and activities.
  • Contact a board member if your swimmer does not bring home a newsletter.

 Parent Meetings

  • Parent meetings are held throughout the season. Dates and times will be printed in the newsletters.
  • Attendance of the meetings by parent or guardian is mandatory.
  • The purpose of the meetings is to communicate information and organize activities that benefit the team.

 Team Suits and Equipment

  • Team suits are required for meets during the winter season. Appropriate practice suits must be worn at practices. It is recommended that team suits be worn only at meets.
  • Team suits are not required for the summer season, but appropriate suits must be worn. (NO two-piece suits.)
  • Swimmers with long hair must wear a cap. Goggles are recommended.
  • Equipment such as goggles, swim caps, sweat suits, swimsuits, etc. are available for purchasing at various times during the season.

 Conference Meet

  • At the end of the season a conference meet is held.
  • Individual times are considered when determining the line up for this meet. The swimmers with the top times are taken to represent the team. Alternates are also chosen.
  • Attendance and conduct also help determine the conference team.

 U.S.A. Swimming

  • All swimmers are members of U.S.A. Swimming and are eligible for these meets.
  • Meets are held on weekends. Attendance is optional.
  • There is a small fee for these meets that is nonrefundable.
  • Sharks attend 6 to 8 meets as a team. Individuals may attend more meets.
